Oluwole Omofemi

Oluwole Omofemi was born in the ancient city of Ibadan where he grew up with his Grandfather, Omofemi gained his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Fine Art at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Nigeria where he was able to practically study painting after so many years of self teaching himself.

Omofemi’s works aim is to employ the influence of visual art to better the lives of underprivileged children and revive the neglected beauty of black African fashion, afrocentric pride, survival, ties and Africanism and black culture.

For him, African Art is often a portrayal of sometimes complex personal experiences. He believes art has a functional role in society to correct vices, to reveal the messages in the mind of the artist, and as a record of the past.

His strength as an artist lies in showcasing human figures. His chosen media are oil and acrylic with preference for oil.

Blebo

Blebo was born in 1993. He lives and practices in Ada, Ghana, where he primarily creates fluid drawings and dramatic textural manipulations of ideas and forms.

Michael’s works emphasise the voices of predominantly local materials within vernacular aesthetics. His enquiry takes place through rituals that constitute the critical activities of open studios and/or laboratory events.

By shaping these voices into forms, he teases out poetically creative, explorative and traceable events, while transforming the materials into critical forms.
